Frank Borzage’s film “Strange Cargo” was released on this date in 1940. Based on the 1936 novel “Not Too Narrow, Not Too Deep” by Richard Sale, the film was distributed by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and starred Clark Gable as ‘Verne’ and Joan Crawford as ‘Julie’.
