Saturday February 28th 2015 On this day in 1953, Alfred Hitchcock premiered his film, “I Confess”. Distributed by Warner Brothers, it stars Montgomery Clift as Fr. Michael William Logan and Anne Baxter as Ruth Grandfort, Baxter having replaced the original actress for the role, Anita Björk, due to her pregnancy at the time. The film is known as having one of the longest preproduction periods of Hitchcock’s career, with the script taking over eight years to write.
